| Input Requested for 2010 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan Update |
The District is seeking comment on its 2010 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan update. The plan, first developed in 2005 in collaboration with San Bernardino County, identifies natural hazards that could affect the District, assesses the vulnerability of its assets and develops a mitigation strategy to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to life and property from hazardous events.

| Customers Reduce Water Use by 15% |
|
Responding to drought conditions and declining water deliveries from northern Califorina, Monte Vista Water District customers have reduced their water use by 15 percent. Communication programs and mandatory water use restrictions contributed to the reduction along with introducing recycled water to the District's water supply portfolio and working with customers with large landscapes to enhance water use efficiency in irrigation practices. | FREE Water Wise Gardening Workshops |
The Chino Basin Water Conservation District is hosting several Water Wise Gardening Workshops in August.
August 14: Preparation & Design
9 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.
August 28: The Basics, 9 a.m. - 12:30 a.m.
Overview of efficient irrigation systems, watering, soils & fertilizers, landscape design and water wise plants.
Resource materials, promotional items and snacks provided. Workshops are held at the Chino Basin Water Conservation District, 4594 San Bernardino St., Montclair. To register, call (909) 626-2711.
